Cornbread
Oven Temp: 400°F | Bake Time: 20 min
1 1/2 Cups Scalded Milk
1 1/2 Cups Cornmeal
1 tsp Salt
2 TBSP Shortening
2 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 Egg Yolk
1 Egg White (stiff peaks)
Mix Milk and Cornmeal.
Add Salt and Shortening to mix.
Add in Baking Powder and Egg Yolk, mix well.
Fold in stiff Egg Whites.
Pour in to greased pan.
Bake in 400°F oven for 20 minutes or until browned.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove bread from pan and cool on wire rack.
